# Setting a License

**License Activations on Local Environments**: If you are using a local/dev environment, a license activation in general will not count towards your activation limit. If this is not the case, please contact support.

To receive support and plugin updates, a software license is required. The license is set up to work on local environments *without* counting towards your activation limit.

To activate the license, enter the license and click on **Activate License**.

When a license is activated, you'll see some quick statstics below. It'll tell you:

1. The plan you are on
2. Number of activations left
3. When your license expires
4. How long until your license expires and/or renews
